Starfish is a swimming club for people with learning difficulties aimed at enabling them to fulfil their full potential in a nurturing and supportive culture.

Starfish is supported by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhaed who provides our base at the Magnet Centre in Maidenhead, Berkshire. We currently have 30 members, ranging from non-swimmers through to accomplished gala competitors.

Starfish is run by volunteers and we are raising funds to support the running of the Club including the hire of professional teachers and coaches, equipment purchase and training, all to further the Club aims.

The Ironman challenge is an annual fundraising event held at the Magnet Centre in Maidenhead. Individually or within teams people compete in a triathlon type event requiring 20 each minutes of swimming, running and cycling. The winner being the person or team covering the furthest distance in 60 minutes.

Last year the Club raised in excess of £2,000 and our target this year is £3,000.
