Mount Kilimanjaro rises majestically from the rolling plains of Tanzania, well above the dense cloud line, to a 5895m peak (19341 ft). It is the largest free standing mountain in the world and the highest mountain in Africa.<br />
<br />
In Mid-January 2012 I am trekking up to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, tackling head on the harsh conditions, altitude sickness and camping in the wild, all in the aid of the RASASC (Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre).<br />

UPDATE 15 Jan 2012: THE MOUNTAIN HAS BEEN CLIMBED! Reached the top of Kilimanjaro at a few minutes before 9am. Now for the Marathon. Please keep donating!<br />

26 miles and 385 yards is the length of the London Marathon and on 22nd April 2012 I aim to complete this race in under 4 hours. It is most likely I will be dressed in some wacky outfit whilst trying to display the logo of the RASASC from all angles of my body.<br />
<br />
I have just begun the gruelling training program and am out in all weathers pounding the streets of Guildford. Combined with my trek up Mount Kilimajaro I hope to raise as much money as I possibly can in aid of the local charity, the RASASC!!!
The RASASC is a local charity that is in need of your help! It is the lifeline to so many people accross Guildford and Surrey, of all ages and genders, and without it its clients would have nowhere else to go. You can find out more on http://www.rasasc-guildford.org/
Please donate enthusistically for this cause. It is not like a big international charity, and relies 100% on the support and generosity of all of us. Therefore, any money you donate will be cherished and put straight to good use.
