| BBC Radio 4 Appeal raises £5,375 for Sailors Society 22-09-2008 The Sailors' Society's BBC Radio 4 Appeal, presented in July by television presenter Ben Fogle, has raised £5,375 in support of seafarers across the world. In the appeal Fogle spoke about his time at sea when he spent two months in a 20ft long vessel taking part in the Atlantic Rowing Race. He compared the isolation he felt during that time with that of seafarers, who spend many months at sea unable to communicate with their families or and loved ones. The Sailors' Society secured their appeal, like other charities, through applying to the BBC. Click here to fundraise for or donate to the Sailors Society Sailors Society Website |
