Leeds Asylum Seekers' Support Network (LASSN) makes a positive difference to the lives of refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds.
• one-to-one befriending
• one-to-one English at Home tuition
• community initiatives which involve and benefit refugees and asylum seekers
• emergency accommodation in volunteers homes to support destitute asylum seekers and refugees
• emergency subsistence allowance to destitute asylum seekers and refugees
In 2008/9 LASSN directly supported over 600 asylum seekers and refugees and indrectly supported a further 6,000. This was made possible through 227 volunteers and 24 refugee community organisations.
