Ferring Country Centre has been established since 1986 and provides work and training experience for adults with learning difficulties. These adults develop work and social skills by assisting us with operating a Riding Therapy Unit that, each month, provides riding lessons for just over six hundred disabled children and adults from the area and through our Horticultural Centre providing plants and produce that are sold to the local community. We also run Brook Lane Workshop, which offers a more one-to-one placement in woodworking and crafts. We hope that the work ethos applied at the Centre will enable our clients to move on to work in the community or paid employment.

We have a proactive fundraising strategy which includes growing our commercial income, developing new enterprises such as a café, increasing our individual donors, marketing a legacy policy and improving our media and PR links. We are looking to increase our sustainability through increasing our existing trading activities and by starting new ventures at our Rife Way site. The Centre has always been very cost efficient and prudent in its financial resources management. But, as you can imagine we always have a ‘wish’ list of items that are required but cannot be purchased due to lack of funds.
