This unique trek takes us island hopping<br />
across four of the Hebridean Islands: Islay,<br />
Jura, Mull and Iona.<br />
We will be trekking through wild untamed<br />
landscapes, ancient forests, white sandy<br />
beaches and up mountain paths. As well<br />
as spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife<br />
this trek also boasts many places of<br />
historical and other interest including a visit<br />
to one of the number of whisky distilleries. We are looking to cover approximately 60 miles over four days.
About Sense International
Sense International is unique. We transform the lives of deafblind children and young
adults in some of the poorest countries in the world.
Deafblind children face unbelievable challenges. They are frequently neglected,
abandoned and even locked away. Without support four out of five deafblind children
may die before the age of five.
Sense International helps build the
bridge between these deafblind
children and the rest of the world,
reconnecting them to their families
and communities through tailored
support and education.
We work in India, Bangladesh,
East Africa, Peru and Romania.
But we know that there are many
thousands of deafblind children
still waiting for our help. Our work
is vital: by sponsoring me
you will be helping us to
reach them and change the lives of some of the most marginalised
children in the world.
The money you raise will have a huge impact in the less developed world
• £4 could help a deafblind child make the long journey to their nearest deafblind
teaching unit for a month
• £750 could help to employ one community worker for a year
• £1,000 could help set up a training programme for teachers
• £5,000 could help to provide complete schooling for a deafblind child
• £50,000 could fund the development of a community outreach programme for a
country
