my event
I am very pleased to announce that I am 1of 8 people chosen from hundreds of applicants in Northern Trust London, Guernsey, Dublin and Limerick to participate in a rare and exciting opportunity to climb Mont Blanc in France this coming August. The expedition team aims to raise in excess of GBP £30,000 for the charity Sense International deaf/blind children.
In promoting our internal values of leadership and teamwork, 20 partners and clients, with limited or no experience, will be able to participate in this mountaineering effort to reach the highest point in Europe - the summit of Mont Blanc. The expedition will take place between 21-28 August and, whilst being organised internally, will be guided by a third party specialist mountaineering company. Jeremy Biggs and Gilly Green will lead the expedition.
We hope to raise as much funds as possible and the inception of this was the cake sale on the 6th May 2008.
My colleagues Aine Dunne and Coleman King contributed to the cake sale by making delicious patisseries and subsequently this was major factor in the success of the cake sale.
My next event is the Denim/Jersey on the 30th May 2008 (EUR €2.00 donation per person).
I am very pleased to annouce that I have booked two outdoor grass football pitches and separate changing rooms with hot showers for the 10th July @ 6.30p.m in Irishtown Stadium. One pitch for the ladies and the other for the gentlemen. This will be a great social event and all supporters are encouraged to attend as there will be celebrations after in a local establishment. I have arranged for a few platters of hors d'oeuvres.
I shall be holding a Pub Quiz very soon plus there will
be a raffle for a succulent & expensive bottle of wine from South Africa, which was very kindly donated by Pieter Bredekamp from the Business Process Analyst Department. As part of this raffle there will be a mixed case of fine wines from ENO WINE in the IFSC.
Should anyone wish to make a further donation then please fill in the sponsorship card which is currently being designed. This will be circulated in August amongst my Athletic Club, family, friends and colleagues in Northern Trust Dublin and Limerick.
I am currently training very hard at the moment. Please note that this trip is not a freebie as I will be paying for my own flights, accommodation and hiring of mountain equipment.
