Girl’s Education Project

alt

The wider goal of this project is to improve the literacy level in the rural villages of Nepal. We have found that hardly one in five rural women are literate and the girls are forced into marriage in their teens. We have also found that children of educated mother are more likely to get an education and this leads to better social and economical status of the families.

Aims of this project;

Raise awareness in rural people about the importance of an education- this will raise demand for education and more schools will open up- resulting in more employment.

Provide support for the needy girls from poor and Dallits families who are unable to afford education- this will ensure that the children from poor families are getting an education too.

How much it cost?

£45- average cost for one child per year this includes books, stationery, summer and winter uniforms, bags, fees and cost of attendance monitoring

£1500- to organise an event to raise awareness about the importance of an education, in this event the local artists, actors and our project workers organise a drama at festival times. Our mission is to raise awareness about education while entertaining.

Currently we are operating in only one village but our aim is to expand to the other villages

The more you give the more we can do so please raise your support today
