My latest effort to raise money for Sense International was an expedition arranged for 20 of us to climb Mont Blanc which took place at the end of August 2008 – 5 days physical effort on ropes, crampons, and intimidating slopes. I am pleased to say that we all managed to reach the summit and have various stories to regale for months, if not years…
The next expedition is for 20 of us to trek the Torres del Paine Park in Patagonia, Southern Chile in March 2009 – remote, glaciers, lakes and mountains … wild, cold and inaccessible! Still some places available!!
So thank you for sponsoring us. It really is truly appreciated.
I have been helping manage Sense International now for six years. We are a truly unique charity: no-one else is trying to provide educational infrastructure to kids in poor third world countries who are both deaf and blind.
We cannot imagine living with this type of sensory deprivation, but there are 2.5m people in the world affected.
We are only 10 years old and just starting but our successes to date are huge.
Every penny you give will go direct to the charity. You are not paying my costs. And being a small, cost efficient, charity operating in the third world, your sponsorship makes a huge difference.
