 J10:10
From Jon Pedley, CEO of J1010:

At a certain point in my journey I looked at the people of Kigazi, where our Ugandan operation is based and began……..and thought two things:

‘It is wrong for me to sit on my arse in church when the people God loves most, the poor, don’t have access to water, healthcare or education’

and……

‘If I had seen this village and met these beautiful, humble, kind penniless people when I was younger – then I would not have made such a mess of my life and hurt so many people’.

And so it began. A project that has so far transformed a rural community positively through water projects, the construction and management of a nursery and the building of a medical centre that offers the poorest of the poor hope, treatment, drugs and healing. And a project that has so far impacted and transformed the lives of nearly 20 British/European citizens who have lived in the village for a month and worked with us to serve the materially poor – and be served spiritually by and through them.

We’re small, focussed on doing what Jesus taught and totally committed to social ACTION – not just talking the Jesus talk but trying to walk the Jesus walk. It’s hard but it’s brilliant: as we see the lives of the Ugandan villagers who have become our friends improved beyond their wildest dreams. And ours!

It will be a life-long journey and we’d love you to be part of it in prayer, messages of support, financial assistance if you can do it – and maybe even coming to Africa to work alongside us to heal the sick, save the lost, give hope to the hopeless, educate the young and provide water for the thirsty.
