The Convoy was the original event which started when some drivers decided to take out some disadvantaged children from a special needs school and treat them to an outing with the added excitement of going in the cabs of trucks. It was so successful that the exercise was repeated each year until now the Annual Convoy is a major tourist attraction in East Anglia on August Bank holiday Sunday. 2010 will see the 25th anniversary run from County Hall, Norwich to Pleasurewood Hills for hours of fun and entertainment and a lunch break for the children and then on to Gt. Yarmouth for a Grand Parade along the seafront. There is another aspect of our work. We do financially help out individuals or groups who are in need of, for example, equipment that is not available from State funding. Finally, we are all volunteers. We have no paid employees and our administration is kept to essential running costs such as stationery, postage, auditing fees etc. East Coast Truckers "Driving your Charity home".
