my event
I will be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon on 12th September 2010 for Village Africa. I have not run further than 5km before so I have been training hard and hope to complete it in two and a half hours. Sponsoring me will really help motivate me and help me over the finish line.
Village Africa is a charity working in Yamba and Milingano in the West Usambara Mountains in Tanzania to help alleviate poverty and improve health and education in the region. Village Africa run a health post and regularly make emergency trips to hospital with seriously ill patients. The nearest hospital is several hours drive away. An appeal has been launched to raise money for a vehicle to act as an ambulance. Without these emergency trips to hospital, many of the villagers will die. Since the project started 4 years ago the death rate has halved. Please help Village Africa to continue the emergency life saving trips to hospital by sponsoring me to do the Robin Hood Half Marathon. Every penny counts.
