Bala Gurukulam Orphanage for Children cares for orphan and abandoned children in Chennai, India, providing them with food, clothing, shelter and education. They currently have facilities to accommodate about 40 children, 17 of which are small babies of less than one year old, and have plans to expand their operation over time to accommodate a minimum of 300 children. Bala Gurukulam's main mission is to up bring these underprivileged children up in a safe environment, promote good discipline and shape them into good citizens, so that they they have the best opportunity to succeed in life.
